Speke has traditionally produced a wealth of boxing talent and, as the sole remaining club in the area, Gemini ABC is charged with the task of maintaining the town's good name in amateur boxing.

The club evolved from St Ambrose ABC, which began life under the guidance of Peter Doherty in the humble surroundings of St Ambrose Church Hall back in 1968.
