The name of Liverpool will be  forever associated with boxing success. The city has produced a host of national and international boxing champions, including John Conteh, Alan Rudkin and Paul Hodkinson. 

Strong partnerships have been forged with local clubs, volunteers and the Amateur Boxing Association. This has resulted in a number of high profile tournaments being staged by  the city, including Olympic and European qualifying events.

Liverpool city council continues to invest time and resourses into amateur boxing and this commitment is reflected in the robust and meaningful partnerships which have been created over the years. These partnerships and Liverpool's rich sporting history have their  roots in the dedication of many agencies including clubs, coaches, members, sponsors, Boxers and officials. Their time, energy, drive and enthusiasm has helped to build the solid foundations on which the sport continues to thrive in this city.
