In the last 12 months Sportslinx has:

  • organised fitness fun days  for 110 Primary Schools With 5,500 children 
  • distributed and collated the data from questionnaires which provide information on children's general level of physical activity
  • implimented nutritional habits and preferences
  • provided sporting preferences
  • organised 100  taster days with 5,000 children attending, acting on information collated from the sports preference section of questionnaire Sportslinx
  • organised 75 after school sport and nutrition clubs with Over 2,500 children involved
  • a total number of 23,000 after-school club attendances.      

Sportslinx has brought in the following revenue finding during the past 12 months:

  • Children's Fund £56k
  • NOF    £40k
  • NRF   £100k 
  • Leaplinx  £25k

In addition Sportslinx has actively sought and been successful in securing funding for five community sports coaches over the next three years. 

These coaches will help deliver the "Fundamentals" initiative and will be based within Archbishop Beck, Cardinal Heenan, Childwall and the Parklands Sports Colleges. (All now in post)

Future Priorities

  • To increase levels of physical activity across the city through the delivery of sport and health after school clubs.
  • To encourage parents to act as positive role models, and offer them free training in Sport & Health and activities. 
  • To create opportunities for children who performed below average on the physical fitness tests. (Already started at Peter Lloyd S.C.)
  • To develop and extend the Talent ID programme 
  • To develop a Sportslinx work base-learning module.
  • To develop Sportslinx Information Technology Programme
  • To develop Nutritional Resource Packs
  • To establish more nutritional after school clubs
  • To develop Sportslinx On-line Questionnaire.
  • To extend Sportslinx testing programme into more Secondary schools.
