Judo is a great sport for all ages and abilities including those with a disability. Judo has its roots in ju-jitsu, which goes back centuries in Japanese history when it was a brutal and often lethal method of self-defence and unarmed combat.

Judo was established as a physical activity in 1882 by Professor Jigoro Kano who  founded his Kodokan Judo movement.
